Una importante presencia de documentalistas estarán durante estos días en Cannes, representando a Chile durante el Marché du Film. Algunos de ellos llevan proyectos en la selección oficial del Docs-In-Progress Chile & Colombia Showcase y en el Spain Showcase de Cannes Docs. El proyecto “El niño niña y la orka gótika” es uno de los dos documentales chilenos para el Docs-In-Progress Chile & Colombia Showcase en Cannes Docs del Marché du Film. Este documental es el primer largometraje de Sidka Saavedra Vera, quien en 2025 participó en IDFAcademy con este mismo proyecto. En búsqueda de nuevas oportunidades llega a Cannes Docs, donde podrá hacer un pitch y mostrar un extracto de la película frente a destacados representantes de la industria internacional. “El niño niña y la orka gótika” es una co-producción entre Chile y Argentina, dirigido por Sidka Saavedra Vera, y producido por él junto a Constanza Schmidt y Claudia León. Sinopsis: Sidka, director de la película, se sumerge en la escena gótica drag underground de Buenos Aires a través de su lente. El próximo lunes 18 de mayo se llevará a cabo el Docs-In-Progress Chile & Colombia Showcase en Cannes Docs, un espacio del Marché du Film dirigido especialmente al género de la no-ficción. Dentro de los dos proyectos chilenos seleccionados se encuentra “Papito corazón”, el segundo largometraje documental de la directora Tana Gilbert. El documental “Aquí se escucha el silencio” se llevó el Premio FEISAL a Mejor Película de la Competencia de Largometraje Iberoamericano Documental del Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara, FICG. Esta película, dirigida por Gabriela Pena y Picho García, y producido por ellos junto a Gabriela Sandoval y Efthymia Zymvragaki. Al recibir el premio, Picho señaló: “Ella [Gabriela Pena, directora] es la tercera generación portadora de estos traumas provocados por la violación a los derechos humanos en la dictadura chilena. Y ella, con mucha intuición, con mucha valentía, con mucha paciencia y con mucho amor, decidió tomar la posta de esta historia para poder cuidar a sus abuelos y lograr que su memoria también pudiera descansar. Y, como dice la película, lo hacen abriéndole la puerta a todo lo que duele y a todo lo que sana. Así que espero que, con este pequeño gesto, podamos cuidar con amor y tener mucho respeto para preservar nuestra historia, que sigue siendo tan cíclica muchas veces”. Felicitamos a todo el equipo y esperamos que sigan brillando en distintos escenarios ✨ - - - - - - The documentary “Where the Silences is Heard” won the FEISAL Award for Best Film in the Ibero-American Documentary Feature Competition at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG). The film, directed by Gabriela Pena and Picho García, and produced by them alongside Gabriela Sandoval and Efthymia Zymvragaki, received the award during the festival. Upon accepting it, Picho stated: “She [Gabriela Pena, director] is the third generation carrying these traumas caused by human rights violations during the Chilean dictatorship. And she, with great intuition, courage, patience, and love, chose to take on the responsibility of this story in order to care for her grandparents and allow their memory to finally rest. And, as the film says, they do so by opening the door to everything that hurts and everything that heals. So I hope that, with this small gesture, we can care with love and show deep respect in preserving our history, which so often remains cyclical.” We congratulate the entire team and hope they continue to shine across different stages ✨

El niño niña y la orka gótica recibió dos premios en DocuLab 18 del área de Industria del Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara. El proyecto obtuvo la selección directa a #LINK y el premio de Caffeine, que contempla conformado online, paquete de entregas y LTO con entregables, reconocimientos que impulsarán sus próximas etapas de desarrollo y circulación internacional.

El proyecto documental chileno-argentino “La linda” recibió el premio Raggioverde Subtitling Award en Visions du Réel, luego de participar en el VdR-Industry. Dirigido por Francina Francina Carbonell, y producido por María Paz González (Chile) y Gema Juárez Allen (Argentina), fue parte en esta plataforma de coproducción y financiación. El premio que ganaron consiste en la creación de subtítulos e incluye la traducción a otro idioma. Sinopsis: Tatuna (89), una anciana adinerada aferrada a su mansión en Mendoza, enfrenta el regreso de su hija desde Chile y una batalla por la herencia, solo para descubrir que su reino es una ilusión: tierras áridas, deudas imposibles y un pasado que la atormenta más que el futuro. ¡Felicidades al equipo por este reconocimiento! - - - - - The Chilean–Argentine documentary project “La linda” received the Raggioverde Subtitling Award at Visions du Réel, after taking part in VdR-Industry.
