Thank you to our generous sponsors and guests, our board, and our staff, who made Born and Raised: A Benefit for the Children’s Storefront a tremendous success! It was a true joy to reflect on the past and pave the way for the future.
We’d like to add a special thank-you to Orrick, whose generosity and partnership have been a major factor in The Storefront’s decades of service to children in Harlem and the families who raise them.
Take a look back at an evening of connection and community.
Thank you so much to @nyzttnetwork for an incredible Annual Conference that brought together leaders in early childhood. The Storefront team loved being part of conversations about childcare systems, caregiver well-being, and support for young children and families. Grateful to learn from such impactful research and community-driven work!
Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible moms, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who uplift our children and strengthen our community every day. Your love inspires us all. ❤️

Last night, one hundred wonderful people celebrated 60 incredible years of serving children in Harlem and the families who raise them. Born & Raised: A Benefit for The Children’s Storefront was truly a night to remember.
For those who couldn’t join us, we wanted to share a very special highlight: this video featuring Executive Director Lindsey Cosgrove, Storefront Ambassador, Board Member, and parent Thais Alexander, and Elsie Aidinoff, one of our earliest supporters who has served on our Board for over forty years. It’s a special look at the history and mission of The Storefront.
Look for more from Born & Raised 2026 in the coming days, and thank you to everyone who joined us!
Enjoy this snippet from last week’s Big Note, Little Note session!
We love having our friends from @carnegiehall visit The Storefront for Big Note, Little Note! It’s safe to say we’re “so glad” to have them here, unlocking the power of music to build brains.

Meet Jessi Wagner ( @jessi_wagz ), another of our invaluable Storefront Ambassadors!
Ambassadors help give more families access to The Children’s Storefront by spreading the word, building connections within our local community, and representing families’ perspectives on the future of our programs.
Jessi is a special education teacher in District 75 schools. She began bringing her daughter, Kaia, to sessions at The Storefront when she was only ten months old. Although Kaia was very shy at first, Jessica credits our programs for helping her come out of her shell: “After many weeks of attending The Storefront, she went up to [Program Coach] Christine and gave her a big hug. This was the first time she had hugged anyone outside of family. Since then, she has opened up tremendously.”
These are the moments we live for. Thank you, Jessica, for helping us spread The Storefront “magic.”

The playspace has had a glow-up!
Our new play kitchen and rug have arrived and are ready for action. Thank you to the Hyde & Watson Foundation for the generous gift that made our “kitchen remodel” a reality!
