Now open:
@thetwentytwo New York.
The first overseas outpost of the London hotel and club, the Manhattan address reimagines the Margaret Louisa Home, a ladies-only boarding house built in 1891, into a hybrid of hotel, dining destination and members’ club.
Located on 16th Street near Union Square Park, the building’s history informs interiors by
@child.studio . Drawing on period photos, Alexy Kos and Che Huang create spaces that balance Gilded Age references with a modern feel, from velvet curtains and a concierge desk to lofty ceilings, archways and a muted palette.
Across 78 rooms and suites, the atmosphere remains cosy and intimate, echoing its original incarnation, while warm service and thoughtful details, from well-appointed quarters to a basket of clementines, shape the experience.
A historic home reimagined for a New York minute.
