Yesterday, we celebrated a major milestone with the topping out of the @ballyschicago Casino project.🏗️✨
From the site’s demolition in August 2024 to yesterday’s topping-out, this milestone is possible thanks to the skilled ironworkers, crane operators, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, pipefitters, insulators, sheet metal workers, finishers, masons, fire proofers and every trade partner who showed up day after day to turn blueprints into reality. To the foremen coordinating complex sequences, the laborers pouring foundations, the safety teams watching every detail, and the crews working through Chicago weather—this achievement belongs to all. Your commitment to excellence is building something truly impactful for our city.

Helping bring the @BallysChicago Casino project to life, Dana Wennerberg, is a Technical Engineer with @BlackRockConstructionCo , a subcontractor to @McHughConstruct .
After completing the Technical Opportunities Program with the @ChicagoWomeninTrades and entering the Local 130 union, Dana found her calling in construction and now leads layout for concrete pours on one of the biggest projects in Chicago.

Founded in 2019, Rocha Electric is a family-owned electrical contractor delivering commercial services from safety inspections and service upgrades to custom wiring and EV charging stations. Upon meeting an old friend at one of our outreach events, Rocha Electric successfully secured their largest contract to date alongside Titan Electric, an Illinois general contractor founded in 2006.
We spoke with Alberto from Rocha and Jim from Titan about their work on the Bally’s Chicago Casino project and how collaboration strengthens partnerships, crews, and communities.

We had a great time meeting so many motivated students at the @chipubschools Skilled Trades Fair! Thank you to the @midamcarpenters center for hosting this amazing event and all the students who showed up interested in exploring opportunities in the skilled trades.
We’re helping to build pathways for youth in Chicago by sharing our workforce partners resources to guide them on how they can get started on their career journey in the trades. This generation brings so much energy to the future of construction here in Illinois, and we’re here for it!

It’s the first day of spring in Chicago. We’re celebrating keeping our crews safe during the winter on the @BallysChicago Casino project site with CCBC ❄️
Even on the coldest days, crews were continuing critical work on site. To keep the job moving safety forward, CCBC teams put extensive winter work measures in place, including:
🚧Securing heavy tarping systems to help retain heat around active work areas.
🚧 Placing multiple heaters throughout the project site.
🚧 Coordinating with crews around extreme weather.
🚧Laying ground blankets and heating to keep soil and concrete at proper temperatures.
These efforts ensured construction progresses in cold temperatures while making sure workers stayed safe and warm.

We had a great time at the @CISCOBuildUnion Building Futures Expo last week alongside partners! This event brought together high school students to interact directly with skilled trades professionals, learn about apprenticeship pathways, and take part in hands-on demonstrations that highlight the work of the union trades.
