Here we are....a week into May already! I have been wanting to post my April wins all week, but alas, it’s been slammed over here since May 1. Prom and soccer and birthday parties and emails and editing mini sessions and Boone’s last day of freshmen year (today!). Phew.
And so, my April wins:
- Celebrated my 45th birthday with some new overalls. I was also absolutely spoiled by Geoff and the kids. I’m grateful to see another year.
- Beach and mountain spring break trips
- Lots of soccer for Boone and Kit
- Photographed the sweetest newborn session for longtime clients/friends
- Completed all orthodontist consults for two kids
- Field day at the elementary school. Got burned to a crisp.
- Photographed 22 spring mini sessions
- Mother/son kickball game. The moms dominated those 4th graders!
- A Shelby, NC coffee date with my BFFs
- So many walks in our neighborhood with Geoff
- Family date night at Optimist Hall
- My rose bushes BURST with blooms

6 week old Hayes was just as precious and cute as can be. I have photographed the Ellis family more times than I can count at this point and truly, it’s always special being with them. This morning’s newborn session with their newest baby was no exception.

Today is the day - Spring Mini Session Registration Day!
I know it’s still February, but now is the time to get your spring session on the books. Here’s how things are currently looking:
We have a couple of spots open for 4/12. Our location for this date was intentionally chosen for the pink azaleas, as they should be popping that week!
Similarly, we have openings in mid-March, which in my opinion, is the best time for photos if you are wanting the highest chance for those early spring blooms that seem to blossom quickly and then fade.
Having been a photographer in Charlotte for the past 19 years (what?!), I’m super familiar with which locations do best at certain times of the year and am excited for the spots we have planned.
If you are interested in booking a spring mini session, either comment SPRING and I’ll reach out or send me a quick DM to get the info.
