Fulfilling a dream is a funny thing.
Eleven years ago, I walked into the Met Exhibit China: Through the Looking Glass, and fell in love with everything. From the story telling, to the histories, and of course the clothes. After going 5 times, I vowed I would be apart of a Metropolitan Museum Exhibit one day…
After eleven years of blood, sweat, tears, laughter, rejections, breakdowns, revelations, and persistence, we finally made it.
Our two pieces from our SS25 Collection, 🌸 Mai’s Blossom’s 🌸, have been exhibited in Costume Art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These pieces are shown next to Pablo Picasso’s “The Blind Man’s Meal” and can be found in the Disabled Body portion of the gallery.
This could never have happened without the beautiful help of @annacofone and @hairandcareproject as well as @jeanieus for piecing this collection together. Of course, I want to thank the Met team as well as Sir Andrew Bolton for believing in our work to exhibit next to such an incredible masterpiece.
