Played in my first overseas tournament over the weekend. I scored 5/7. Lost 1 game and missed the first round. Had loads of fun 😁

Ended the run of four draws with a solid classical win. Board 1 pressure is real but the position was under control… even if slide 2 says otherwise. Slide 3 was all about converting two minor pieces for a rook and pawn end game.

Played my first classical game of the season for Upminster last night against Sergey - ended in a draw (2nd slide is the final positio).
I actually played my first ever classical chess game against him back in 2023. He beat me, and then his son beat me the week after 😭 #Bullies
Good result considering Sergey is 200 elo higher than me, and I was losing just a couple moves before!
Sergey on the game:
"I had a nice active & attacking game but could not find a winning continuation at one point (interestingly Daniel - my opponent - did find a win for me! but I didn't see it..).
So after a few moves, I lost the attacking momentum, ended up just being a pawn down for not much compensation, and a draw was agreed."

Played in Hendon's blitz tournament a few weeks ago, got some friends to come and play too. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get home after 🫠🫠
Performed decently, beat everyone I should have. 💪🏾

Dammn, I got schooled by Professor McCall of Imperial University. Can you imagine me losing with in the first 10 moves? I can't, but here it is 😭😭 He is a professor of theoretical optics, and I'm not sure what that is lol

I crossed 1600 ECF for the first time!! What a win. I had like 50 seconds on the clock, and my opponent offered me a draw, and I said NO, like an absolute MENACE!! Despite having little time left, I was sure I could convert it. It was a tense game, and he resigned a couple of moves after I declined his draw offer.
In the last slide, I found a double knight sacrifice with maybe 1 minute left on my clock left 🔥🔥
