Today is International Women’s Day.
Chess is for everyone, and today we’re celebrating the women and girls helping to shape the game.
Across England, women contribute as players, organisers, arbiters, coaches, volunteers, and supporters. We are proud of the impact they have on our chess community and grateful to all who champion their progress.
If you’re a woman who loves chess, we’d love to celebrate you. Share in the comments what you enjoy most about the game.

Tonight at 7 pm, join Michael Green and FIDE Arbiter Hok Stephen Chiu on the ECF 'It’s Your Move!' podcast as they tackle challenging scenarios from tournament play.
Watch the premiere by following the link in our Story or catch up later on the ECF YouTube channel.
