This is a special one. One of my best friends is moving across the country in a couple weeks, and she wasn’t gonna leave without the cherriest tool box in San Diego. We’re gonna miss you Donnie! 🫶🍒
@jackiericecakes came by the other day while we were working on Frida’s new box and got a few behind the scenes shots. My design and manufacturing process is something I’ve put a lot of work into over the past couple years and it’s great to be able to share some of it!
We made some upgrades to the @cherrycustomcases “daytrip” that has now evolved to the privateer tool box. I learned a few things from doing it on my own last year and we were able to fit my most used tools into this small case. We also found some lighter solutions for a few of the tools making it possible to fly with in your luggage. No compromise. Stoked to go racing, with everything I need in this box🤓

Got V1 of my tool box for the year together last week and got to break it in at the @mountaintrainingsystems test camp. I already have some quality of life improvements planned and can’t wait to get this thing even closer to perfection!

Day Trip got an upgrade too!
The one tool I thought was missing from the original Day Trip was a chain whip, and I know a few people agreed with me.
It took a while, but I found the right tools to be able to make it happen. Moving to square drive bits and a smaller Feedback torque wrench freed up some space for the chain whip, and I only had to change the top foam layer.
This version also gets the new one-piece ASA heat resistant magnet board and magnetic insert arms that help free up a load of table space.
Price for the complete box is $950, or the upgrade kit including the new magnet board, arms, and top foam insert is $150 for anybody who has the old version!

A cherry setup that’s easier on the wallet!
Day Trip Lite - $550
Built for function over flash, it has 90% of the capability of Day Trip at a much lower price. Skipping out on the 3D printed parts and substituting in a few cheaper tools let me get the price of this way down. All you’re really missing compared to Day Trip is a torque wrench and cassette tool. There’s also space on the bottom layer to add a tool or two of your own down the road.

The bleed case for the SRAM mineral oil kit is now available. $75 for the case, inserts, and a sealed bottle for oil. All you need is the bleed kit from SRAM (with the green syringes) and the Park Tool MWF-3 flare nut wrench. Keep your mavens or motives running cherry 🍒
A few angles of the special Day Trip @frida9 is taking to the races this year. The tool list is a bit different to the standard box to fit in a few specific tools that she wanted, but the vibe is the same. Love how it looks with the white case and hoping to offer more colors for the standard Day Trip soon!

Before I left for school, I made another case for myself as an add-on to my Day Trip. The idea was to have 99% of the capability of the garage/bike shop at home in two cases I could take on a plane and store in my small apartment bedroom. I’m super happy with how everything turned out, and it makes apartment bike work much less of a painful affair.
There’s no plan to sell the add-on case as a standard item because it’s very bike/component specific, but Day Trips are still available with a short lead time to get tools! Shoot over a DM if you’re interested!
