Course Preview: Fire Tower Climb
The most notable section of the Chequamegon 40 is the infamous Fire Tower Climb 🔥
This half mile stretch may be short, but it will have no problem setting your legs and lungs ablaze. Riders must conquer grades of up to 10% to reach the top, where the cheering crowd rewards them for their efforts.
Be sure to save a match for this section, or your race will go up in smoke!

Cheq 40 Course Preview: OO
OO is located at Mile ~18 of the Chequamegon 40, just before the halfway point of the course.
The entrance to this aid station is where you'll make the iconic bridge crossing, so be sure to smile for the camera! You'll find a fully stocked aid station with our amazing team of volunteers offering hand-ups.
OO is the only location on-course that is accessible to spectators, making it a perfect opportunity to get some motivation from your loved ones. The remainder of the course is where the most technical terrain, punchy climbing, and rollercoaster descents are located, so make sure you take advantage of this aid stop to refuel before the final push!
