Some studio days are for reflection.
Returning to the work of Jorge Eielson, whose reinterpretation of ancestral quipu knot systems continues to resonate deeply with me.
His language of tension, memory, and material connects to my own lineage of makers 🤍 quilters, textile workers, and hands that shaped form through repetition and care.
In the studio I often think about how craft histories live inside contemporary abstraction 🤍 how knot, fabric, and gesture carry both personal and collective memory.
At a time when so much experience is mediated through the digital sphere, the work of our hands feels increasingly vital 🤍a grounding force, a kind of gravity.
