SLAG&RX is pleased to announce, “Into the Wolf’s Mouth,” a solo exhibition by Gail M Boykewich. This marks her debut exhibition with SLAG&RX.
The exhibition title derives from the Italian expression in bocca al lupo - “into the wolf’s mouth” - a phrase traditionally used to wish someone luck before entering an uncertain or dangerous situation. Simultaneously ominous and protective, the idiom reflects the emotional atmosphere of Boykewich’s work: a world in which tenderness coexists with anxiety, intimacy with distance, and beauty with latent unease.

SLAG&RX is pleased to present, “Fresh Young Paintings for Sale,” the debut solo exhibition at SLAG&RX by artist, Andrei Acris.
Acris approaches painting not as a vehicle for narrative, but as a material process through which images slowly precipitate into visibility. His figures are rarely fixed or fully resolved; instead, they hover in states of becoming, stretched, fractured, doubled, or partially absorbed into surrounding fields of color. Faces appear only to dissolve into line, while bodies seem tethered to schematic structures that function simultaneously as interiors, landscapes, and psychological extensions of the self.

Through June 18, discover the first exhibition in France by Jamaican artist Arthur Simms.
Simms’s sculptures are characterised by a constant tension between fragility and monumentality. His work brings together disparate elements to create structures in which objects accumulate memory and physical presence, transforming the assemblage into an architecture of relationships and stories.

Née aux États-Unis et basée à New York, Fradkin construit dans ses peintures et œuvres sur papier des scènes intimes où la figure humaine occupe une place centrale. Nourrie par des références allant des miniatures persanes et indiennes aux arts populaires et à la tradition de l’enseigne peinte à la main, son travail associe frontalité des figures, intensité chromatique et structures décoratives pour créer des compositions où narration et présence psychologique se déploient avec retenue.

Born in the United States and based in New York, Fradkin creates intimate scenes in her paintings and works on paper, in which the human figure takes centre stage. Drawing inspiration from sources ranging from Persian and Indian miniatures to folk art and the tradition of hand-painted shop signs, her work combines frontal figures, chromatic intensity and decorative structures to create compositions in which narrative and psychological presence unfold with restraint.

Né en 1961 à Kingston, en Jamaïque et installé aux États-Unis, Simms développe depuis plusieurs décennies une pratique sculpturale singulière fondée sur l’assemblage, l’attache et la mise sous tension de fragments industriels, d’objets domestiques et de matériaux organiques. Ses structures, souvent verticales, parfois totémiques, explorent les notions d’équilibre, de mémoire et de transformation, donnant naissance à des formes à la fois fragiles et architecturales.

Come discover the first solo exhibition in France by the artist Arthur Simms.
Born in 1961 in Kingston, Jamaica and now based in the United States, Simms has for several decades been developing a distinctive sculptural practice based on the assembly, fastening and tensioning of industrial fragments, domestic objects and organic materials. His structures, often vertical and sometimes totemic, explore the notions of balance, memory and transformation, giving rise to forms that are both fragile and architectural.
