I said Haiti to the world & I meant it.
Leslie never cooked from a measuring cup, she cooked from memory, feeling, instinct, and love. Watching her in the kitchen taught me that food isn’t just food… it’s Haitian legacy.
The same hands that fed me inspired the dishes I still create today. From djon djon rice to lambi en sauce, I’ve taken her foundation and added my own rhythm to it. However, the soul of it will always belong to her.
Honored to be featured by EBONY for their Mother’s Day story celebrating recipes passed down through generations.
My mother will always be the topic! Momma’s boy indeed.

Some women give life.
My mother gave life, love, sacrifice, discipline, safety, prayer, and pieces of herself every single day without ever asking for credit.
The older I get, the more I realize that so much of who I am was built from her silent sacrifices. The nights she stayed strong when life was heavy. The times she poured from a cup filled nothing but faith and mother’s love. The prayers she whispered over me that I never even heard.
People celebrate me for the man I’ve become, but the truth is… there is no me without her.
Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who carried more than I’ll probably ever fully understand.
Thank you for loving me through every season of my life.
I hope today reminds you that your love built generations. 🤍
