My talented co-author and chef friend @hughamano perfectly describes it as “Asian-influenced dishes via the rich larder of the American South” and @rinneallen has provided some amazing photos of my food that captures the soul and southern hospitality of each recipe beautifully, such as buttermilk fried chicken drizzled with Chinese chili crisp you’ll find on the cover. Plus the legend himself and one of the most iconic chefs of all time, and my mentor @ericripert wrote the foreword.

Had a great time talking about my debut cookbook “Down South + East” alongside with my bro @hsumamipapi at the @atlantahistorycenter ! I was very honored to see the community I grew up in come out and support me, while also experiencing some of the nostalgia I had when writing the book (which #ATLiens know about Harold’s BBQ…which inspired my cornbread recipe)??

We also served from my book Char Siu Glazed Ribs, Pimento Cheese Wontons, and a version of my Collard Green Fried Rice all made by @sweetauburnbbq .
