A visit to Mercado de La Boqueria is an experience in itself — and one we found ourselves returning to more than once during our time in Barcelona. Set just off La Rambla, the market is a showcase of incredible produce — from the freshest local seafood to an array of international ingredients and everything in between. Every corner offers something new and it’s impossible not to feel completely spoilt for choice. With so much to take in, we made time to settle in properly, pulling up a stool at Bar Boqueria to enjoy a selection of tapas and traditional Catalan dishes. Simple, ingredient-led cooking at its best, surrounded by the energy of the market. A standout dish was the beef carpaccio, served with port wine, foie gras and Idiazabal cheese. Rich, balanced and full of depth — a perfect reflection of the market itself. @laboqueria10 @bar.boqueria

I’ve absolutely loved working with Yorkshire rhubarb these past few weeks 🌿✨ Such a beautiful ingredient—vibrant, sharp and full of character. Last month, we had the pleasure of dining at @bar_canete during Ben’s birthday trip to Barcelona — an afternoon that perfectly captured everything great hospitality should be. A relaxed few hours spent enjoying beautifully fresh tapas, exceptional local ingredients and genuinely attentive service. Sitting at the kitchen counter, watching each dish come together, was a real highlight — and a rare chance to be on the other side of the pass for once. There’s a clear integrity to the way they cook. Seafood and fish sourced directly from the Catalan markets, seasonal vegetables carefully selected from local growers — all treated simply, allowing the quality of the ingredients to speak for themselves. A brilliant reminder that great food doesn’t need to be complicated — just thoughtful, well-sourced and executed with care.

Last night’s guest chef takeover at Method at Sykes House Farm ✨ What a joy to cook for a room full of people who truly love food. It was brilliant meeting so many interesting people, sharing stories and creating something special together for one evening.
