I had three exhibitions in the UK in 2025, all representative of my interests and passions.
Photos 1, 2: The Republic
The year kicked off with a show at the #leicagallerylondon of The Republic, my ongoing work on Ireland. It was curated by
@louproudcurator and opened with an interview with
@cheatlezelda and me. A great start to the year!
Photos 3,4: Nablus, West Bank.
The honouring of martyrs, Palestinians killed under Israeli occupation, continues in Nablus to the present day.
I returned to Nablus in the West Bank this year to document how life had changed- or not- since my last trip there in 2004, and meet some of the people I had photographed over 20 years previously. It’s impossible to describe life suffered with the dystopian levels of control and surveillance under Israeli occupation. An exhibition of the work from 2004 and 2025, Smoke and Mirrors, was held at the Bradford Literary Festival in June.
Photos 5,6,7,8: Strange Love
2025 was the year when Strange Love, a major project of mine, was finally published. Strange Love challenges the conventional narrative of natural enemies, offering a visual exploration of life in post-industrial America and Russia. It uncovers unexpected similarities between the two nations, prompting a fundamental question: can we always distinguish between them in a set of photographs?
The book was elegantly published this year by
@setantabooks , see link in bio.
In October 2025, as part of
@photomonthlondon @gallery46whitechapel in London hosted a show of Strange Love, curated by
@martinfruitmachine which ran for a month and was seen by many.
In October I did an onstage presentation and interview with
@cheatlezelda on Strange Love
@frontlineclub in London.
