Thank you Ōtautahi!👏 👏 👏
We are completely exhausted but also filled with happiness because we've seen what queer joy really looks like ❤️
We're going to take a little break (starting on Monday), but this is our official "Thank you and see you in a bit" post. We've had over 110 events, which is absolutely incredible and a big thank you needs to be said to everyone who organised an event, who volunteered their time and skills and also to those who bought tickets, supported organisers and showed up!
We love you all. 💙
If you have five minutes to spare and any notes or ideas, feedback form is linked in our bio and will be opened until end of April. We want to know your opinions so that next year's Pride Fest is even better! 🎉💙❤️💜
Oh our tiny little hearts ❤️
Thank you so much Ōtautahi for walking with us today! It means so much that you did, that you put on some extra layers, grabbed your rainbow umbrellas and walked with us, laughed with us, danced with us!
Happy Pride everyone! 💙💜💛💚🫰
17 May 1990: The day when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from its list of mental health disorders. 🎉
We now celebrate this date as a symbol of progress toward dignity, human rights, and inclusion. But we also keep in mind and want to point out the discrimination, violence, and inequality experienced by rainbow people around the world.
How to make things better?
💖 Listen to all LGBTQIA+ voices - gays and lesbians, bisexuals, trans, non-binary, takatāpui, intersex, and disabled rainbow people
💙 Challenge bullying, harassment, and discriminatory language
💛 Use people’s correct names and pronouns
💜 Make services, forms, bathrooms, uniforms, and policies more inclusive
💚 Support rainbow-led organisations and events locally
🖤 Include LGBTQIA+ history and perspectives in education
💕 Create visible signs of support, especially in environments where people may feel isolated
🏳️🌈 Enroll to vote and stay informed about laws, policies, and political decisions affecting our rainbow whānau
Pride Fest 2026 might be over, but the support doesn't stop when the flags come down. 🏳️🌈

Who did we miss? We want to keep this resource growing. Tag any local or nationwide organisations we should add to the list in the comments! 👇
Say NO to this bill - come along to our letter writing activation THIS FRIDAY!
This initiative is led by queer community members who understand the impact this bill will have and want to do something about it.
Bring along a device (if you have one). We'll have writing supplies, folks there to support you, and snacks to keep us going!
Guess what, whānau! 👀
The events calendar and its form are still running! All you have to do is head over to our website and fill out a quick form - and you'll get yourself not just a spot in our calendar, but also a social media shout out.💅
Let's keep Ōtautahi as loving, exciting and full of rainbows as it was in March ❤️
Some of our favourite photos from Christchurch Pride Fest 2026! 😍
Once again, thank you to everyone who showed up, volunteered, performed, thank you to every single organiser and venue, thank you to the rainbow whānau of Ōtautahi Christchurch.
This really is how you put the unity in community. ❤️
We're taking a break from social media - It's been a huge amount of work this year (so many amazing events!) and we decided we deserve a little break!😴 😴 😴
We'll see you again later in the year. 💕💕
In the meantime, fill out the feedback form, please! You can focus on a specific event or just an overall atmosphere, completely up to you. There are no mandatory questions and you can also stay completely anonymous - we wanted to make the form as accessible as possible 😊 Link in bio 👆
The very last batch of photos you get from us this year! Happy people of all colours of the rainbow. 🌈❤️
We hope to see you during the year! There are events happening, even though not as many as during Pride Fest. And for the absolute hermits, we'll see you at Pride Fest 2027! 😘
