From the juniper view off the deck to the landscape that frames the lot, the clean garage finish inside, and the fibre lines quietly running behind the walls, each detail adds to how the home feels, functions, and connects to everyday living.
Thank you to ABCO Waterproofing & Sundecks Inc., Groundlevel Landscaping & Excavating, @ronabuildingsupplies , @telus for helping shape the finishing layers, exterior spaces, interior details, and essential connections that complete the 2026 Y Dream Home.
Celebrating Rose-The pillar of CHBA Central Interior 💪
Today marks the day we celebrate a very special milestone for Rose Choy, the enigma. The force behind it all. The steady hand that has shaped nearly two decades of growth, change, and impact at CHBA-CI.
Nineteen years ago, Rose Choy began her journey with the association as Office Manager. What started quietly behind the scenes soon became something much larger, leadership that would help define the organization itself.
Through every season of change, Rose has remained a constant. Not always in the spotlight, but always at the centre of progress, keeping things moving, building connections, and strengthening the foundation of the association year after year.
Her leadership has been recognized along the way, with innumerable wins. But those milestones only capture a fraction of her impact.
The real impact lives in long-standing initiatives like the Training House project.
And now, in 2026, that legacy is recognized once again with the CHBA Community Service Award, a reflection of years of service that extend far beyond a title.
Nineteen years later, she is still writing her story. A story that is not defined by awards, but by the lasting difference she has made in people, projects, and community.
We love you and appreciate all that you do for this association. ❤️
P.S. Thank you, Rose for bringing that kick-ass energy to the office day after day for 19 years. 😉🙂↕️
—————-————————————————————————
19 years later, what’s one word you would use to describe Rose?
The 2026 Community Service Award is an ode to the 2025 Training House Project.
To the project that became more than plans and timelines, more than walls and finishes, more than any one moment captured in a photo.
To the sponsors who showed up early and stayed steady through every stage, quietly making so much of this possible.
To Rose, our Executive Officer, who runs the show with clarity, care, and the kind of leadership that keeps everything moving even when the pace gets heavy.
To Drew Atkinson, Project Manager, who carried the day-to-day of it all, holding the details, the decisions, and the momentum that brought it across the finish line.
To Tim Kasten, TRU Instructor, who guided the students through every stage of learning, turning the project into a real-world classroom experience and a place of growth.
And to all the other sponsors, students, and hands behind the scenes, every part of this win has your imprint on it.
Looking back now, it’s clear this wasn’t just a project. It was people, coming together, building something bigger than themselves.
We won!!!! CHBA Central Interior has been nationally recognized by the CHBA with the 2026 Community Service Award.
For those of you who don’t know, this recognition is awarded to highlight projects, initiatives, or partnerships that make a meaningful impact in their community. And that is exactly what the Training House Project stands for- a community coming together to build something bigger than a home. 🥹🥹
This win is for the students who showed up ready to learn, the sponsors who stepped up without hesitation, and the three-way partnership between TRU, YMCA BC, and CHBA CI that has stood the test of time for 30 years.
We could not be more proud and grateful to see the Training House project getting the limelight it deserves.
Low key emotional rn😭😭😭
Comfort is something you don’t see but feel every day.
Long before the finishes and final touches, Kamloops Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. was hard at work behind the walls of the 2026 Training House, planning airflow, designing each duct run, and installing the complete HVAC system and venting.
Their work is the reason this home heats, cools, and breathes the way it should.
Every detail was thoughtfully integrated to deliver balanced airflow, strong air quality, energy efficiency, and long-term performance in every room.
Built to Step Code 4, Net Zero Ready standards with a high-efficiency system, this home is built to perform.
We are incredibly grateful to Kamloops Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. for the work no one sees but everyone feels.
Great keynote this morning from Jean Charest at the CHBA National Conference in Quebec City.
Jean Charest served as Canada’s former Deputy Prime Minister and as Premier of Quebec for nearly a decade, and remains a well-known voice on Canadian economic and political issues.
Insightful discussion on leadership, Canada–U.S. relations, the economy, and the challenges ahead for our industry. A very engaging and timely conversation. 🇨🇦
