The film has now been featured on Stashâs Found Footage Horror FAST channel and YouTube platform, bringing this world of obsession, folklore, and vengeance to a wider horror audience.
A FAST channel stands for Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television, essentially a live streaming TV-style channel online where viewers can tune in and discover films as part of curated horror programming.
As an independent micro-budget proof-of-concept film, this project was built from atmosphere, shadow, and a deep love for psychological horror and Chinese ghost lore. To now see it reaching viewers through a dedicated horror streaming channel is great!
What began on screen continues to grow beyond the frame.
While Malice haunts the screen, The Art of Malice continues to take shape in the shadows as a historical horror novel set in 1666 Guangzhou, expanding the mythology, the rituals, and the ghost that refuse to rest.

Because history keeps telling us the opposite. Horror has existed for centuries â folklore, cautionary tales, operas, paintings â and its purpose has never been to instruct violence, but to expose it, to examine guilt, fear, obsession, and consequence.
When society commits atrocities, it doesnât need art to teach it how. Art arrives after, holding up the mirror weâd rather not look into.
If horror were the cause, the monsters would vanish when the films stop. They never do.

'The Art of Malice': What began as a lean 50 page idea has grown into 130 pages and it keeps expanding, thickening with new slow burn scares and richer historical detail. Researching Qing-era rituals, daily life, and forgotten corners of Guangzhou has become one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable parts of this process. Iâve been writing every day, letting the story take the shape it demands. I wonât place a deadline on it only continue following where the ghost of Malice leads.

Staying at the Hydro Majestic â a 1904 health retreat turned luxury hotel â was like walking through living history. Mark Foy built this place as a hydropathic palace, mixing Edwardian, Art Deco, Victorian and Moorish architecture, even shipping in a dome from the Chicago World Fair.
After surviving fires, wartime occupation, and decades of decline, the hotelâs been beautifully restored. Watching the Megalong Valley from its clifftop edge was unreal. Another amazing adventure with Rachel.
