I'm no physicist but I think Quantum is when past present and future is happening all at once in one space and one can never be prepared. We definitely were not prepared to have some real ass players grace us with their talents! Thank you for being on Quantum Mega @mondeufo@soil.accessory ! @laena________ ! @sarah.safaie ! @green_gerry ! @informations_ !

I'm so proud to have one of my papercuts illustrate this essay written by @ginamei for the @convo_ist . When the thoughts are too heavy, abstract or complicated, the color and tactile act helps me work them out. Thank you @ginamei ❤️ Please read this essay if you get a good moment to sit down.

“Monde UFO wander through a humid mist of exotic samba shuffles, shamanic whispers, and reverberating laser beam synthesizers.” @newcommute
In the shadows of the Los Angeles bustling music scene, the enigmatic collective led by visionary Ray Monde create a trance-like fusion of psychedelia and avant jazz, mantra-like evocations, brash moody ambience and passages reminiscent of long-lost library music.
Magnifying Monde UFO’s idea of musical chaos, their early sonic escapades into off-kilter exotica is now elevated with sweeping atmospheric waves of sound inspired by an eclectic brew of Arto Lindsey, Khan Jamal’s ‘Drum Dance To The Motherland’, Keith Hudson, Milford Graves, Marion Brown, Don Cherry and Lennie Tristano.
Cast deep into number theory with occasional quasi-religious touchstones, ‘Flamingo Tower’ bustles with background sounds overlaid with intimate melodies conjuring plenty of suitably strange illusions; a synthetic orchestra plays baroque pop, a guitar is set to auto destruct and Ray Monde’s hushed vocals carry a bracing narrative. It’s an evocative album, one for the heavy music nerds, sprinkled with ear candy and proliferated by mysterious numbers which litter the song titles.

Deep cleaning the studio and found a few of these sweet zines. The world feels pretty different from the time I made a quick zine of my favorite goddess cosmology. Happy 8 year anniversary to Chinese Nighttime Church Zine ❤️
Part of Life Drawing Class is learning about what you think a good drawing is. I think when i finally stopped trying to prove i could draw to justify drawing at all, is when my sense of observation grew. Observing whats in front of me and finally enjoying the outcome of my drawings. The best drawings to me look free, like they are alive, like i can see what your seeing and i can feel this drawing in my own hands too. I love this movement drawing i just found in a pile of drawings. Based on this pose its @artfulmalemuse with a full beard. See you in class ❤️
Getting to restore a 2014 watercolor I did was a pleasure. A gift of time travel and restoration. I get to meet 2014 me in this painting. Although i love the bleach out faded minimalism from time on a wall of a home, it was nice to bridge the person who painted this in 2014 and the person I am now. The one on one relationship of artist to patron through art, is really special, it's the string that connects our lives. The chance to repair is a blessing. To the keeper of this collection, Thank you for this opportunity for restoration and update.
Thank You @gpawines for letting me get playful for this round of labels. Drunk Spike and Open Mouth marriage Proposal. I promise to return to elegant serious labels promptly.
I've been thinking about these abstract flower paintings lately and how much I still love them. These all have homes, thank you to all the art patrons that supported my practice as it expands and deepens.
I try not to post up before construction does it's thing, but many hands go into building a space. A mural is sort of a steward of the vibe, and I feel a huge sense of work and responsibility when I get the call. It's work that can't be projected and makes no sense on paper. So its hard to gain trust intellectually, it's sort of an emotional trust we shake on, but isn't that all art? Things are adjusted to be site specific and to incorporate the folks working and supporting the establishment. I do a lot of research about who the mural is for, it's not just a KChau painting slapped on a wall. It's for that space specifically. It's meant to age with the place. It's designed to look like a hand painting and not a sticker on a wall. So there's drips and pencil marks. It will exist no where else! Thank You @lesloups@lovestreamsdetroit@chanceswithwolves for letting me put River and Sky inside a Hi-Fi Bar in Detroit.
I've been waiting for the right time to settle into the @lacopinekitchen Cookbook. I was feeling protective of the art I made just for Nikki and Claire so long ago that's now for everyone! I wanted to look at it quietly in full daylight, with some downtime to make a recipe. Thank You @cestclairemusic and @secretvocabulary for having me be a part of everything @lacopinekitchen I'm so proud of @lacopinekitchen from running a Brunch Truck, to being in love and running a biz, maintaining a lot of integrity for who you are and what you put into the world. Thank you for keeping me a part of your plans! I'm very proud you trusted me 10 years ago to help bless the walls with a mural after I quit my job. And you're still keeping me fed! You both deserve all the accolades that came with all your hard work and you've taken care of everyone that came with it. Aside from the art your story and recipes stand on their own without it! My date butter was amazing! Thank You! Thyme?! You guys wild! Millions of Blessings NH+CW 💘@lacopinekitchen
Stunning Hannah. I try to draw with the bluntist, smooshiest, silliest non pointy tools I can find. This conditions your hand to slow down, practice a light lifted touch on paper, and that not every detail is a given.
