The American Ballet Theatre’s principal dancer offers an outstanding voice on the appeal of ballet, which is currently enjoying a particularly vibrant period, partly thanks to him. “The key is combining classical discipline with a more emotional approach.” But in recent years, he has also expressed his emotions through acting, making his debut in one of the great final works by Carlos Saura, “The King of All the World.” He then appeared in the series “Someone Has to Die,” and with Jessica Chastain in the film “Dreams.” “I’m so happy if the audience is drawn to ballet thanks to my work. Il primo ballerino dell’American Ballet Theatre è uno dei testimoni più autorevoli della forza del balletto che, anche grazie a lui, oggi sta vivendo un momento particolarmente vitale. «La chiave è mettere insieme la rigidità classica con un approccio più emotivo». Così riesce a esprimere le sue emozioni, ma non solo. Perché da qualche anno ha cominciato anche a recitare. È comparso per la prima volta in una delle ultime opere del grande Carlos Saura, “The King of All the World”, poi nella serie “Qualcuno deve morire”, e nel film “Dreams” al fianco di Jessica Chastain. «Sono molto contento se qualche spettatore si è poi avvicinato al balletto magari grazie al mio lavoro.
