Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards.
I got the news a little early from a friend in Singapore — YAN has been nominated for the 2026 Eisner Awards.
Some nominations are already worth celebrating just by being included… especially the Eisners.
Maybe I should celebrate with a cigarette… Actually, make that two, since YAN was nominated in two categories:
— Best U.S. Edition of International Material – Asia
— Best Writer/Artist
The winners will be announced this July at San Diego Comic-Con.
Time to start gathering some luck for the ceremony. Fingers crossed.

Yan by @changsheng1221 reaches its explosive conclusion in this third and final volume from @titanmangahq next month, and i'm a little sad it's all come to an end.
This series has been a ride from start to finish, and a lot of fun to work on. It's really the whole package -- kinetic artwork with a cinematic feel, nuanced characters with novel powers and backstories, and a genre-bending plot that'll have you on the edge of your sleep. A highly recommended read!

On connaît Chang Sheng pour son exploration de récits hybrides à la frontière des genres et des époques.
Cette fois, il nous embarque dans une narration dense et labyrinthique qui met en scène des personnages marqués et brisés. On retrouve un trio central,toujours le meme modus operandi ! Un magicien désabusé, une guerrière transformée en arme vivante, et un anatomiste déchu, qui fascine et, ma foi, dérange un peu aussi ! Et puis, pour finir, une enfant !! Les apparences rythment le récit où chaque révélation posent une nouvelle question qui rend la lecture addictive. Tout le scénario et les evenements fonctionnent et s'imbriquent parfaitement. Ancien directeur artistique primé, l'auteur insuffle à son œuvre une approche visuelle héritée de son parcours dans la publicité et les arts graphiques et graphiquement parlant, le manhua est encore une folie !! Il mêle réalisme minutieux et stylisation picturale !! Y'a rien a redire, c'est beau et net !

Voilà une entrée en matière aussi intrigante que maîtrisée. C’est un récit dense, exigeant par moments, et terriblement accrocheur, qui mélange fantastique, drame et mystère avec une vraie singularité. On sent que tout est déjà en place pour une montée en puissance sur la suite. Clairement, à chaque fois, c’est le genre de lecture qui te happe sans prévenir… et qui te laisse avec une seule envie, comprendre jusqu’où tout ça va aller !!
