I pulled an all-nighter.
And I am feeling it.
The kind of tired that sits in your bones.
The kind that quietly pulls your energy down and makes you question whether you are keeping up with everything you said you would do.
I am not going to pretend I am not feeling behind. I am.
And carrying that feeling for too long starts to wear on your mental health and your sense of well-being in ways that are hard to ignore.
But here is what I know: getting it off my chest is part of how I let it move through me.
Not denying it.
Not pushing it down. Just letting it be real.
Sleep matters.
Working until the early hours is a recipe for burnout, and I know this.
I lived this when my youngest was a baby and the only time I had to work was after they went to sleep.
Night after night. And it catches up with you. It always does.
So today I am giving myself permission to feel exactly what I feel.
❤️🌸🦞And if you are in it too, here is what helps me: tune into the physical sensations of the emotion as it moves through you.
Do not try to stop it.
Just notice it. The intensity will start to soften around the ten-minute mark.
Emotions travel through the body along the vagus nerve, running from the top of your head down through the center of you.
When you really slow down and pay attention, you can feel it. It is remarkable, actually.
You are not broken. You are processing. There is a difference.
You do not have to carry it alone.

There is something that happens when I step onto a stage.
Before the first word. Before the first slide. Before the room even knows I have arrived.
I move.
Dance has been my reset button my whole life. It is how I find my breath, drop into my body, and remember that presence is not something you perform. It is something you inhabit.
Standing on the stage at York University commencement, looking out at a room full of graduates ready to write their next chapter, I felt it again. That full-body knowing. That quiet confidence that only comes when you have learned to trust your own movement.
Stage presence is not about being loud. It is not about polish or perfection. It is about being rooted. And for me, movement is how I get there.
On this International Dance Day, I want to celebrate every leader who has a ritual that brings them home to themselves. Whether it is dance, a walk, a breath, a stretch between meetings. Those rituals are not extras. They are the foundation.
Move before you speak. Lead from the inside out.
Own your imprint.

Over two years ago, I made a decision that has, in small and unexpected ways, reshaped how I move through the world.
I stopped drinking.
Not because of a rock-bottom story. Not because of anything dramatic. I simply decided that an alcohol-free lifestyle aligned better with who I am, how I want to lead, and the imprint I want to leave on the people and communities around me. It was also the imprint I wanted to leave on myself.
What I didn’t expect was how quickly I would become invisible at the very tables I had helped set.
