People ask me at almost every shoot, âWhy photography?â
Short version? Iâve always been a creative. From designing clothes on Roblox to shooting on my iPhone⌠to being gifted my first camera at 17, then picking it back up on FSUâs campus in 2022 when my brothers told me to stop letting it collect dust.
Photography isnât just what I do itâs what feels natural to me.
This FAQ series is a couple of stories and answers behind the lenses
What once felt like the burden of being the first now feels like the privilege of saying I am.
I didnât apply to Howard University because I understood its legacy. At the time, I didnât even know what an HBCU was.
I applied because I received an email waiving my application fee and took the chance. What felt like a small moment then was really the seed God was planting to completely change my life. I applied because of God.
Thank you God, and thank you Howard. đ

Never Forget Your Purpose
To Howard: the little girl in me is screaming. The one who used to feel alone, but never forgot to adjust her crown. Matriculating through Howard has been more than an education, it was an evolution.
To the only child who always knew how to stand alone, you arenât just the âonly,â you are the one. Howard has taught me that greatness isnât just what youâre given, but what you choose to do with the space you take up. The growth and wisdom Iâve acquired here has solidified one truth: I am exactly who and where Iâm supposed to be.
Thank you God, and thank you to my familyâĽď¸
My purpose was never a question; it was a destination.

It was a pleasure to serve as the 2025-2026 Mister Zeta Phi Beta for the Ladies of the Quintessential Alpha Chapterđđđ¤
When I first got to campus, I did not think that serving on a court was for me. It wasnât until my junior year that I felt called to run for this position. The impact that the women in this organization left on me prior to serving was exactly what inspired me. And during my reign, my girlZ were always supportive, encouraging, and loving to me and my Brother KingZ.
So, to the Ladies of the Quintessential Alpha Chapter, I want to say thank you. Thank you for allowing me to represent you. Thank you for allowing me to reviving this legacy. And thank you for being apart of my community.
Officially signing off,
Your 2nd Mister Zeta Phi Betađđđ¤

Some people love to believe that HBCUs will not prepare you for the âprofessionalâ world, yet our institutions that make up 3% of higher education produce 50% of the worldâs Black doctors, lawyers, philosophers, etcâŚ..this is not a coincidence.
