Ottawa-raised, New York-based actor Chad Connell has ridden the trail from blockbuster showdowns (White House Down) and supernatural sagas (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Shadowhunters) to top billing in the Netflix Original Good Sam and enough Hallmark holiday romances to make Santa blush harder than a city slicker milkin’ cows. A Ryerson University Theatre grad, he’s currently ridin’ proud for his hometown in Magic On Set (produced by Ottawa Tourism). Chad saddled up with his faithful writin’ pardner Shelley Simester to rustle this rootin’-tootin’, candy-coated panto into existence, provin’ once again that even after playin’ dashin’ demons and kissin’ under mistletoe, his fastest draw is still a punchline. Tonight he swaps snowflakes for spurs as everyone’s favourite gingerbread-slingin’ Hansel in his ninth season with OttawaMusicals.
