@chad.sayers captured during an exceptionally deep day in the @shamesmountain backcountry. Few skiers I have ever worked with are as dynamic and fluid as Chad. It’s always a pleasure to point my camera at him.
What does it take to survive a lifetime of skiing for the camera?
At 47, Chad Sayers is still charging big mountain lines with a smoothness most skiers never reach — even as his body carries the scars of crashes, broken bones, and decades of impact. From Freeride World Tour podiums to near-fatal injuries and globe-trotting film projects, his career has been built on grit, faith, and a deep love for “soul skiing.”

With a tenure roughly the same size as the entire Swiss Alps and some of the most rugged mountains in British Columbia’s Coast Range, @bellacoolahelisports is an extraordinary area. So, when I had the opportunity to visit this legendary place with @chad.sayers , @marcuscaston , and writer Leslie Anthony @docleslie some years ago, it was a real treat. Between fantastic skiing, a rich cultural experience, and fly fishing in the river outside the lodge, we captured some nugs on the memory cards. This shot of Sayers navigating the split glacier below the Arjuna group is definitely a standout in my archive.
