Watched my sister marry the love of her life. Spent time with my amazing, smart, funny nieces and nephews (some not pictured @jameskanagasooriam and @kingkanga ) and reconnected with family. Travelled with my shawty. Went to the motherland with my ride or dies and ate to my hearts content. After a crazy and hard year itโs been amazing to have this experience!!! Rice packets on serve with chicken and goat curry (cooked in whole spices and coconut milk), yellow pumpkin curry, beetroot curry and a kale mallung wrapped and warmed in banana leaf and topped with a coconut cream raita. Vegan option excludes da meat.

I donโt know the languages. I donโt know the music or the dances. I donโt know the names of the streets in the cities or have a connection to the land but I DO know how to make the food of my ancestors. Food is how I connect with my culture and how I share my love with the people I care about (if youโre a close friend or family then Iโve probably cooked for you). I am grateful to have the freedom to access and celebrate my heritage.
Iโll be serving up my take on Sri Lankan Kotthu Roti at the @miscellania_ rooftop on Sunday 21 Jan with the help of my mum and my sister. Weโll have chicken and vegan available until sold out. Please come say hi, connect and EAT!
