“Dance Is All Around Us – Where Are We?”

Floating between documentation and presence, between what has remained after the performance and what is yet to be recognized, local artists bring elements of their unstable practices into the white space of the new building and the courtyard of SKCNS, presenting not only themselves, but also their comrades, colleagues, and friends. Through video installations, photographs of dance productions, notes, binders, and lists, they construct a map of a scene that exists despite systemic gaps and absences. Visitors are invited to move freely through the exhibition — to pause, sit, browse documents, and discover who is present there, yet in fact absent.
The exhibition symbolically maps the position of dance authors within the current social and production context. Like the other programs conceived by these artists during the MB Showcase, this installation functions as a trace within a large festival event — a trace that quietly and subversively infiltrates the space, much like the ways artists in recent years have managed to survive within the political and geographical landscape of Southeast Europe.
