AIR | Pearl Beach Arboretum So grateful to have been a part of the @pearlbeach.arboretum Artist in Residence as the emerging artist alongside @fionagavino . Thank you to all the wonderful people at PBEAT who made this experience possible… a very special community. My installation will be on show in the Arboretum until April 27! 🌱 ~ Image: Mutualism, 2025, repurposed iron, wood and textile dye with foraged eucalyptus bark, sap and rust. Mutualism explores non-extractive ways of relating to the natural world. I hope to translate these organic companionships through the ‘joining’ and ‘threading’ together of together.

Clear your walls, you’ll want to be taking these works home with you. We’re honoured to be showing Anna’s works at Theia and to have her as part of our resident artist line up for 2024-2025. Artist Statement   Anna-Francesca Seymour is an early career artist who creates on the lands of the Darkinjung (Central Coast NSW) and Wiradjuri (Molong NSW). Her work explores reciprocal relationships with the natural world through textile, drawing and installation. She aims to rekindle a consciousness of the intrinsic entanglement among diverse forms of being. By fostering an awareness of this interconnection, Anna hopes to nurture the viewer to care for the environment in which we are all a part of.       Website:   Instagram: @cesca__studio

Very grateful to have been accepted as part of GATHERED COLLECTIVE for the Gunyah Artists in Residence alongside @charligerry and @claireepaul . During this time of planet devastation it seems critical to foster non-extractive connections with diverse forms of life. GATHERED explores ways of relating to the natural world that embody a slowness and presence in the now. Our collective engages walking and foraging practices to embrace a deep observation of ecologies. Thank you @kath_fries for this opportunity! We are looking forward to learning about the beings which exist within Gathang Country. @wolfewisecreative 💚 @gunyahartists

Rockpool Residency: Unseen Worlds February 17th, 2024 | 10am - 5pm Gadigal and Birrabirragal lands, Nielsen Park Vaucluse Assemblage, 2024, new and reused hessian, organic cotton, jute thread, clay and repurposed steal Assemblage envisions a dwelling for diverse intertidal ecologies. Rockpools are complex sites which facilitate gatherings among organic entities. Assemblage explores this entanglement through joining and threading textiles together, demonstrating the diverse companionships within intertidal niches. Witnessing rockpools situated within Nielsen Park, informed the work's direction of line and structural form. Biodegradable and repurposed materials are used to investigate ongoing kinships and exchange; the notion of one entity’s existence supporting or hosting another - symbiotic, mutualistic or parasitic. In time, when Assemblage begins to biodegrade, it’s materials will provide beneficial nutrients to micro-organisms continuing an ongoing relationality with the natural world @floorplanstudio_

TRACING TRACKS cotton, found fabrics and wooden slats Tracing Tracks documents a daily walking practice enacted in the rural environment of Andore, Rajasthan India. Tracks are contours of everyday movements and existence. Tracks are not constructed pathways but rather lines made by repeated routes. They’re sites for encounter with the human and non-human world. The tracks followed were made by differing species navigating terrain, agricultural practices and local people travelling between villages. Enmeshed throughout the landscape are discarded fabrics. Upon each walk, pieces of fabric were collected and assembled to form a textile-based map of Andore. @farmstudioindia @potterculturaltrust
