The glazing of Ambivalent Fecundity 🌱 you can view this work @934 through April 24th 🙌 the title is pulled from an article “Fecundity” by Justine Parkin that discusses the inherent death in reproduction and references Annie Dillard’s classification of fecund as ambivalent, rank, or grotesque. “The body as an object for ambivalence - teeming growth and excess pressure”. #ceramicsculptures #glazing #process

Mark your calendar! 👉 Our April exhibition opens Friday, April 3 from 6 to 9 PM and features work from: ▪️ Anna Kruse @ceramic_beans ▪️ Kyle Larson @larson_kyle_larson ▪️ Susan Li O’Connor @susanlio ▪️ Nicholas Warndorf @nicholaswarndorf This group exhibition brings together sculpture, painting, collage, and expanded drawing to explore layered environments shaped by memory, landscape, and human experience. Through organic forms, shifting terrains, and fragmented imagery, the artists examine how materials, places, and cultural traces evolve over time. 🎨 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Anna Kruse + Kyle Larson Ceramic sculptor Anna Kruse creates organic forms that feel almost biological—structures that twist, branch, and grow in unexpected ways. Her work explores transformation, material experimentation, and the strange beauty of evolving forms. Painter Kyle Larson builds layered, dreamlike landscapes where figures, animals, and shifting terrain slowly emerge through atmospheric color and intricate mark-making. His paintings invite viewers into complex environments shaped by imagination, memory, and the natural world. ▪️ Opening Reception: Friday, April 3 | 6–9 PM ▪️ On View: April 3 – April 25 (Saturdays from 12 – 3 PM) ▪️ 934 Gallery | Columbus, OH 🤝 We’re deeply grateful to our supporters: Greater Columbus Arts Council @gcac_cbus , Ohio Arts Council @ohioartscouncil , The Columbus Foundation @colsfoundation , and Orange Barrel Media @orange_barrel_media . Thanks to their generosity, our #PayArtists initiative continues in 2026, ensuring all artists exhibiting at 934 Gallery are compensated, regardless of sales. 🖤 All gallery staff are volunteers. We are proud to support artists and foster conversation through inclusive, thought-provoking exhibitions. #934gallery #artexhibitions #contemporaryartwork #artincolumbus

So excited to see this exhibition come to fruition ✨ co-organized by @davidmorrison_ and myself ~~ Beyond the Garden features 11 artists whose practices engage with clays’ inherent materiality to investigate themes of ecology, the Anthropocene, and the hidden centrality of the Earth. This exhibition brings together a diverse range of artists in their approach to making, thinking, and responding to our natural world. #ncecavolumes #ceramics #garden #ecology #ceramicsculptures

This exhibition reflects a distinctly of-the-moment desire to subvert tradition and embrace imperfection in the ever-evolving field of ceramic sculpture. Bringing together faculty and alumni from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Kent State University, and the University of Akron—the exhibition highlights how artists in the region explore the dynamic interplay of architectural form, surface, and glaze to reveal the expressive potential of contemporary ceramic sculpture. Featuring work by: Seuil Chung @seuil_chung Kristen Cliffel @cliffelkristenart PJ Hargraves @pjhargraves Drew Ippoliti @drewippoliti Peter Christian Johnson @peterchristianjohnson Anna Kruse @ceramic_beans Eva Kwong @evakwongart Keenan O’Toole @keenoloto Seth Nagelberg @seth_nagelberg Philip Soucy @philipmsoucy Featured image: Kristen Cliffel, Reverie, 2025, low fire clay, glaze, gold lustre This exhibition is supported by Opening Sponsor Mayco Glazes (@maycocolors ), Program Sponsors The Rick and Alita Family Foundation and Standard Clay Company (@standardclaycompany ), with additional support from AMACO Brent (@amacobrent )

An Ode to my Burgundy Ficus 🌱 My ficus predates grad school... it's a wonder I kept it alive during those 2 years..and then through multiple cross country moves, this past summer it seemingly doubled in size thriving against its East facing window. I love the way its form shifts throughout the seasons. This piece was made for my show at Dream Clinic and will be shown again at an upcoming exhibition in Cleveland. #burgundyficus #ceramicsculpture #bendingtowardthelight #tending #standardbrooklynred
