Her work explores transformation, material experimentation, and the strange beauty of evolving forms. Painter Kyle Larson builds layered, dreamlike landscapes where figures, animals, and shifting terrain slowly emerge through atmospheric color and intricate mark-making. This exhibition reflects a distinctly of-the-moment desire to subvert tradition and embrace imperfection in the ever-evolving field of ceramic sculpture. Bringing together faculty and alumni from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Kent State University, and the University of Akron—the exhibition highlights how artists in the region explore the dynamic interplay of architectural form, surface, and glaze to reveal the expressive potential of contemporary ceramic sculpture. An Ode to my Burgundy Ficus 🌱 My ficus predates grad school... it's a wonder I kept it alive during those 2 years..and then through multiple cross country moves, this past summer it seemingly doubled in size thriving against its East facing window. I love the way its form shifts throughout the seasons.
