In the era of 2007, there was a legend in my neighborhood in Ibadan, New Bodija, Nigeria— a woman who showed up exactly at 9am. But you didn’t need a clock to know she had arrived. Her powerful voice shouting “O gbona o!” (it is hot!) was the alarm.
Every time I heard it, I’d run straight to my mum, begging for 200 naira to grab the hottest, freshest bread in the world.
I don’t know where she is today, but that moment — that memory — will forever live in me.
And I’m honored to bring that memory to life through the “O Gbona” Panel Member Track Suit — coming
soon.

28.
First birthday without my dad…
but not the first year he lives through me.
I carry your name in my chest,
your discipline in my steps,
your silence in my understanding,
and your prayers in everything that’s about to happen.
Grief didn’t break me,
it introduced me to a deeper version of myself.
Today is not just a celebration of age
it’s a reminder that legacy doesn’t die,
it transfers.
I am the evidence.
