& here’s another cup filled to the brim. some love: for @alexlevymakeup for glamming me up and gluing my makeup to my face, somehow. for my maid of honor @isabellemreynolds who’s not a crier, I promise—! she has never shed a tear. for @centronijo for marrying us all to the milky way. for @reuben.barsky , who made not only our rings but also my custom ruby stone necklace to honor my girl on her birthday. I hope we would have earned those “excellent”s, rubes. and for everyone who came to our wedding so full of permission, and everyone who held us from afar.

Gravity- How it effects us! - Part 3 GRAVITY AND OUR EMOTIONS With much of the day spent sitting and not moving much, gravity is pulling us down compressing our physical body. This includes the weight of our rib cage weighing down on our waist and squashing our diaphragm, consequently creating tension. When there is tension in the intercostal muscles and diaphragm, the lungs then don't have the space for a full expansion. As we encounter intense life experiences, our breathe is fundamental in processing it. We need to be able to expand our lungs, to be able to breath deeply and to sigh. If the lungs can't fully expand, our emotions can get trapped within, leaving us even more on edge. Imagine this, day in, day out... how much can build up inside. So, to maintain a healthy emotional balance we need to keep moving our physical body, changing our relationship to gravity and creating more expansion for our lungs. (Obviously, for emotional health this is only part of what is needed). How does changing our relationship to gravity help us? Well, basically if it is pulling you down at a different angle, it can release tension that is already there. For example, if we were to lay down, with something underneath our upper back, like a pillow or a rolled up towel. Then gravity would be pulling us down at a different angle, and our chest would be opened by the pillow or towel. Adding then awareness to our breath we can soften our diaphragm and create even more space between the ribs. This type of exercise can help relax the body and soothe the nervous system. Remember.... Keep moving your body! Don't let gravity win over you. It will slowly make you shorter and trapped with emotions. . #wellbeing #restorativeyoga #physicalspacewithin #yogalife #yogaalignment #bienestar #healing #health #stretching #elisafogazzadalzell #wellnesscoach #estirar #yogavida

Gravity and How it Effects Our Physical Body Part 2 Using our logic, we know that water can not pass through a hose pipe harmoniously if it is compressed. The same applies to our organs such as the intestine, blood vessels, nerves etc. All day long gravity is pulling our body down. For example, the weight of the upper torso often collapses into the waist and lower torso. Particularly if we spend all day sitting. This constant extra weight can cause compression in the intestine, limiting it's flow. In the case of a nerve being compressed we could get pins and needles or even sciatica. So remember... To avoid this, we need to keep moving, changing our relationship to gravity. Stretching and lengthening the body to maintain space within. . #healing #healingyoga #mindfullness #gravity #restorativeyoga #elisafogazzadalzell #physicalspacewithin #yogalife #yogaalignment #sciatica #pinchednerve #digestiveissues #stretching #importanceofexercise #wellbeing #whyexercise #health #centronijo #sanación #gravedad #ciatica #bienestar #problemasdigestivos #yogarestaurativo #posture #postura #sindolor #nopain #yogacurativo #estirar

Gravity - How it effects us Part 1 continuation After the last video some people asked me to show some specific exercises that help recreate space after spending time sitting down. So here's one... * One knee on the floor and the other foot infront * As you lunge forward to avoid arching your lower back and compressing it... 1. Bring your abdominal muscles towards the spine 2. Connect with your glutes 3. Tuck your coccyx between your legs * Holding these muscles you can then lunge forwards to feel the stretch on the front of your legs and groin. * If you would like more, you can lift your arms up to really help separate the upper part of the body from the lower. This is so you can maintain your muscles strong and the hip joints and lower back with space and stability. The upper part of the body lifts up and out of the lower, so that it's not compressing into the pelvis. Recreating the space after sitting and gravity have compressed the body!! . #yogaeveryday #restorativeyoga #wellbeing #physicalspacewithin #innerpeace #yogalife #yogaalignment #sanacion #bienestar #yogacadadía #yogavida #painfree #sindolor #elisafogazzadalzell #yogarestaurativo #learntostretch #estirar #stretching #strongandflexible #fuerteyflexible #healing #health

GRAVITY - How it effects us on a day to day basis! Part 1 We know that gravity is there, although we don't think about it. From a young age we a taught that a ball falls towards gravity, as can our bodies. And we often try and stay straight and upright. In this modern world, we find ourselves sitting too much. But we often forget that being in this position, gravity is causing the upper part of our bodies to compress down into the lower. As it compresses, the muscles will shorten all round, the torso compresses into the pelvis, the hips get tighter and we loose the lumbar curve. The body just has a tendency to fall towards gravity and compress into itself. Think about the amount of time we spend sitting!!!! So what can we do to try and help??? Keep moving!!! Keep finding that space! Keep putting your body in a different position in relation to gravity! Sitting is one type of position. But you can stand up, or lay down. You could try and stretch sideways. Or place your legs in a different place in relation to your torso, so your legs could go behind you, nearer your back instead of the front. This way we can use gravity to recreate the space lost from being compressed sitting. So just keep finding ways to change your relationship to gravity and not allow it to compress you, but allow it to help you create space!!! . #yogalife #restorativeyoga #yogaeveryday #wellbeing #physicalspacewithin #yogaalignment #innerpeace #physicalhealing #nopain #sanacion #bienestar #yogavida #yogarestaurativo #posture #postura #sindolor #gravity #gravedad #elisafogazzadalzell

PHYSICAL SPACE WITHIN THE BODY When on a healing journey have you ever thought about the importance of physical space within the body? (It could be created through stretching, massage and many more options). If there's physical space then: * The fibers of the muscles aren't so tight, which allows the joints to have more range of motion. * The organs have more space to do their functions. * Blood can flow more harmoniously. * The nerves can send and receive messages without being compressed. * The diaphragm, being a muscle, has more space to move, the ribs can expand more, allowing us to breathe more deeply. * Having more space to breathe allows for more space to process our emotions as human beings. As humans we have a tendency to hold onto things and squash them inside. More physical space allows us to breath through what we are feeling, creating a space to let go of what we are holding onto. And move forward in our lives. * Slowly finding a way to be more at peace with being human beings, to live this experience of life. The more space we have .... The more we can flow within our lives!
