I had the honor and privilege to sit with Maestro Laurencio in Oaxaca last year. The time flew, or maybe stood still, as we moved through misty mountains and the desert hacienda that was our home for a moment. This offering is a heartfelt invitation to anyone interested. @antiochuniversityla Spiritual and Depth Psychology, @sdp.aula is honored to invite you to an intimate bilingual class. Indigenous Roots of Niños Santos Ceremony (Psilocybin Mushroom Ceremony): An Exploration with Shaman Maestro Laurencio Lopez. Who: Open to the community When: Sunday, May 3 | 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Where: Online via Zoom Admission: $35 Donation This community event explores the cultural and Indigenous roots of psilocybin mushroom ceremony. We aim to re-Indigenize, decolonize, and ethically contextualize these sacred ancestral practices. Correction of misconceptions is vital to highlighting traditional knowledge that has been studied by Indigenous peoples for millennia. This pedagogical exploration provides access to foundational Indigenous philosophies related to ceremonial contexts, knowledge often inaccessible to the general public. We are privileged to learn from Maestro Laurencio Lopez Nunez, a Master Curandero from Oaxaca, Mexico. Trained by his grandmother in traditional Zapotec healing, he is a respected Cultural Bearer and a long-time instructor for the University of New Mexico’s Curanderismo course. Commentary for link to register. We look forward to seeing you there for this important conversation. #ceremony #decolonize #reindigenize #psilocybin #mushrooms

In Downtown Los Angeles our community came together to create altars honoriring Imagration and our loved one on the the other side. In collaboration I’m with Marcia Lopez from Women’s true healing we creating an altar dedicated to Land and Spirit. We lovingly placed pictures of our family members who immigrated in the center of flowers on our tree of life. The tree connects us to land and spirit. A connection that is ethereal as much as it is physical. There is a longing that echoes in the land. A longing for loved ones, for safety, for home, for joy, and celebration. The tree reminds us that we remain rooted in this longing. That we remain rooted in our hope. It whispers stories of ancestors and dreams yet to come, tales of transition guided by a sacred rhythm—a never ending cycle of departure and arrival, of leaving behind what was, and embracing what could be with courage and longing. Closing Celebration Sunday, November 2nd | 3 – 7 p.m.Empty heading Illuminating the path between life and death through light, music and cultural expression, the celebration becomes the luminous Noche de los Muertos. Join us as we close this year’s Downtown Día with reflection, joy, and community spirit. #community #dtla #losangeles #gloriamolinagrandpark #grandparkla #diadelosmuertos #dayofthedead
