Today we acknowledge all kinds of mothering in all its forms.
To the mums who are with us, and to those we carry in our hearts.
To the aunties, grandmothers, sisters, and friends who step into that role with love.
To step-mums, chosen mums, and mother figures who show up in countless different ways.
And to the dads and carers who hold both roles when they need to.
We also recognise those who find today tender or complicated and those who mother others through care, kindness, and presence, even without the title.
Mothering isn’t just one story. It’s the people who taught us, guided us, comforted us, and stood beside us from first steps and school days, to grown-up moments and even coming along to events like this with their daughters.
To every person who has nurtured, supported, or simply loved someone well thank you. We see you, and we’re grateful.
