Preserving Manchester Hip Hop history: one cassette at a time🎧
The Azimuth Project is ensuring rare recordings aren’t lost to time, including @stuallan.dj ’s legendary Bus ‘Diss. First broadcast in the late 80s on Piccadilly Radio, the show gave many Manchester Hip Hop fans their first exposure to the music and culture emerging across the pond.
In collaboration with @greater_mcr_hip_hop_archive and @manclib_archives , the Azimuth Project invited young people attending Unity Radio’s MCC Youth & Play funded programme to learn the digitisation process and shine a light on a part of the city’s musical history that’s often overlooked.
