WE IN THE SOURCE 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
During my recent talk last month at the Honolulu Museum of Art I spent my session expressing the lived experience that TO DREAM IS A PRIVILEGE.
In an emotional talk I walked through some of my family story and in that moment coming to terms with the fact that this concept that I, as well as my peers some of which I have spent time with recently as they launch new products or announce new collaborations, are manifestations and prayers come true of our ancestors that we could one day DREAM.
That just not so long ago to dream was to met with that’s not possible or maybe don’t get your hopes up. I have been blessed with parents that supported my dream and with mentors that energized my dream and with peers that collaborated with me on my dream.
Myself and the entire @fableticsmen team put the intention into the work and the outcome has been fruitful in more ways than you might can imagine.
And for this historically black, for us by us publication to give mention to the award winning Greensboro chair that was designed by myself @c_athletics and my good friend @bennuco is something I can’t quite put words to.
You ain’t seen fabletics look like this before and we just getting started.
This isn’t the end of my dream I just entered REM.

This simply doesn’t happen without @boutros80 of @bennuco . His talent and knowledge helped to push this concept further than I imagined. I came to him with a concept that will be a vision of how to preserve black history through design. We wanted to give more meaning to furniture design beyond its primary use giving more meaning beyond the materials used and visual beauty of the piece. I believe we accomplished that with the Greensboro chair. Big thank you again to @jesseslens.photo for the imagery. And thank you to @hypebeast for the love.

The way music should be experienced.
Huge thank you to the good folks @toh_listening_bar for having me and my friends for the evening. We pulled up and were immediately drenched in sound. We were able to stay till closing since the group after us canceled their reservation. Man the hospitality was through the roof. The sound selector gladly entertained our numerous questions lol @benjaminhinamanu@willcsmith_@devpipkin and kept the good drinks flowing.
People who really know me know how much music guides me and this was one impactful way to kick off our trip.

One of the first days during our trip we slid over to this park and mind you this is my 5th time to Tokyo and I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to experience the cherry blossoms. It was early in the season so none had really bloomed but there was this loan tree that had the park poppin! There were made two other trees and it was a beautiful experience, moment and memory.
Really lived in the moment during this trip so I’m looking forward to sharing more morsels from this year’s excursion.
