Allow me to reintroduce myself!
A reminder that there is a real person behind this account!
My name is Cara Chute Rosenbaum (For pronunciation: Cara Chute rhymes with parachute)
My pronouns are she/her, and I am a Casting Director, Audition Coach, Enthusiastic Dancer, and Mama based in Los Angeles, CA.

I have a BA in Dramatic Literature & Theatre from The George Washington University.
I love actors. I love theatre. I love food. I love comedy.

I love to help set actors up for success and do their best work.
This is my current most used emoji: 🫠
Yes, my hair is actually pink. I dye it about every 6-8 weeks and I’m a real hit at daycare.
I have two beautiful kids who keep my life as meaningful as they do sticky.
I live with my supportive partner, two gorgeous kiddos, and big dog.
I use the Oxford comma because it exists.

This small shift in your mindset can change everything!
So often I see and hear about actors who start off thinking about their auditions with how they can stand out or beat the other actors submitting or win the day….
You have no idea what other people are submitting!
Aim to do YOUR best work for the moment. Find YOUR thread of connection. Feel good about the choices you are making and executing when you click that submit button. That’s what casting wants to see!
There is a reason @ccrcasting is considered a comedy powerhouse in this industry. From The Mindy Project to Prom Pact, she has consistently cast some of the most iconic projects on television. 👑
Cara was kind enough to sit down with me to offer some “no-gatekeeping” advice for actors navigating their careers in 2026. In this clip, she dismantles the common myth of the “4-second watch” and explains what actually happens when a Casting Director opens your self-tape. 🎬

Babes, we’re back with a new year self-tape Challenge!
This bad boy is going to involve all the job-type roles you might find at a restaurant!
Here’s what you can expect:
• Kick-off Zoom with Erica and Cara to provide some tips and guidance ahead of taping
• Four roles to tape, on your own time, by a deadline
• Additional resources, links and guidance
• Slack channel to meet your fellow challengers, find readers and support
• Access to alllllllllll tapes for your viewing (and educational!) pleasure
• Wrap up Zoom to ask questions, hear about common traps, themes and habits
Cara and Erica will pick their favorites for each role and discuss why those folks rose to the top for each character.
It’s exercise, it’s community, it’s a guided safe space to try things and see if they work.
It’s the gym… at the restaurant!

A few folks have reached out asking where I have been.
Needing a break does not mean being in denial. It means regulating my nervous system so that I can show up as my best self.
Oh and f*ck 🧊

Script Analysis is the number one skill needed to help with your auditions. Yet it’s easily overlooked, skimmed or even fully ignored as an actor considers the many other decisions they need to make for any given audition.
But good text analysis provides answers, easy confidence. There’s so much right in front of you if time is taken to mine it out.
Which is why Cara and I have brought back our long form Script Analysis Class! Multiple weeks of practice, guidance and feedback to help actors hone this very important skill. Live Zooms will start and end our journey, and in between you’ll have the flexibility to get the work done on your own time (by a deadline.)
We created this technique to SPECIFICALLY help with your on-camera auditions.
Check it out at the link in bio.
