Hurricane Melissa was one of the most powerful storms to ever hit the Caribbean and the devastation is major and complex. The worst-affected areas are Jamaica (specially St Elizabeth’s parish), eastern Cuba, and vulnerable parts of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The recovery effort will not just be about immediate rescue, but long-term rebuilding. The impact of the storm will be felt far throughout the Caribbean and into the rest of the world. Relief and rescue efforts led by Global and local organizations have been working on the ground since the storm and need more support. What can you do? DONATE! Money, clothes, diapers, cleaning supplies, canned goods, etc… (Do your own research. There are many great organizations doing impactful work. We will post some links soon!) Spread awareness! Share helpful information… Support Jamaican artists and businesses.
