Many stakeholders, former foster youth, alumni, and community members believed this month’s Board update was only supposed to be informational regarding listening sessions and surveys conducted over the last 180 days. Instead, the County’s Department of Child & Family Well-Being is now proposing actual closure-related actions before broader public input has been fully gathered and assessed. We are calling for: ✋ A 90-DAY PAUSE on any actions regarding San Pasqual Academy 🗣 Expanded public input sessions 🤝 Greater involvement from former foster youth, alumni, community leaders, and stakeholders before any permanent decisions are made

(Ya girl loves the new Bachman parking structure, but it’s still 2 blocks from the hospital.) • UCSD Hillcrest has SO many valet spots (that were at one time ADA parking…) that are NEVER filled. #BreakingNews : Two bodies were found at the Otay Valley Regional Park in the South Bay on Friday afternoon, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said. First responders received a call about a body found on the shore on the north side of Beyer Boulevard in Chula Vista at about 11:54 p.m. Minutes later, San Diego Fire-Rescue received a second call about another body in the water on the south side of Beyer Boulevard in San Diego, SDFD’s Candace Hadley said. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene. The bodies were not found near each other and were, in fact, located in separate cities, across the valley from each other, according to San Diego police Lt. Cesar Jimenez. One of the bodies was identified by family as that of a missing teenager with autism. Julian Guerrero was last seen by his mother at their home near Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach around 1 a.m. yesterday. When his mother woke up, she told neighbors her son and his bike were gone. The teenager’s body was pulled from Fenton Pond in the jurisdiction of San Diego police. Jimenez said the body did not appear to have any trauma, so the Medical Examiner was called to take over the investigation. No other details would be provided until the ME discloses the cause of death, the lieutenant said. The second body was believed to be an unhoused man in his 60s, according to Chula Vista police.
