Creativity is woven into the identity and economy of Unama’ki – Cape Breton ✨
Our Island’s creative economy spans music, performing arts, crafts, writing, visual arts, and a fast-growing motion picture and television sector. Together, these industries support jobs, drive tourism, attract investment, and contribute to a strong quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Unama’ki – Cape Breton is internationally recognized for its music traditions, live performance venues, festivals, artisans, writers, and cultural experiences. At the same time, the local film and television sector is evolving rapidly, with major productions choosing the Island for its landscapes, skilled talent, and competitive incentives. In 2024 alone, Nova Scotia’s creative industries generated over $1.1 billion in economic impact and supported more than 15,000 jobs, proving that creativity isn’t just part of who we are, it’s one of our strongest economic drivers.
Supported by the Cape Breton Partnership and many industry partners, the creative economy continues to grow as a place for artists, entrepreneurs, producers, and investors to build, collaborate, and succeed.
Strong economies are built by strong businesses 🤝📈
The Unama’ki – Cape Breton Business Insights Program, led by the @cbpartnership , is a year-round initiative that listens directly to business owners and operators across the Island. Through confidential, one-on-one conversations, the program captures real insights into the opportunities and challenges shaping the local business environment.
These insights help guide business supports delivered by the Cape Breton Partnership, inform the work of the Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network and the Cape Breton Regional Municipality Regional Enterprise Network, and support informed decision-making by policy-makers and partners.
Participation is voluntary, confidential, and focused on meaningful conversation — not surveys or paperwork.
