After a car hit an aging power pole on Russell Street, it became an opportunity to strengthen local infrastructure.
Working closely with a nearby business, the old pole was replaced with newer, stronger equipment built to better support the neighbourhood.

Andrea says electricity is like magic, and she gets to see that magic in action every day. ✨
As a Reliability Advisor, she connects the dots between our crews in the field and customers at home. When she's not working, she's soaking up time in nature or with her longtime book club.
Volunteers are the backbone of the communities across Nova Scotia. 👏 And each day there are non-profits working in every corner of our province to make our communities a better place. That's why we're proud to offer the Grassroots Grants Program, providing vital support to our neighbours through food programs, new life skills, and lasting friendships.
Congratulations to the 18 recipients of this year's program! Nova Scotia couldn't do it without you. 💛

Moving poles. Strengthening the grid. ⚡
By relocating power poles closer to the roadside, our crews can access them faster—meaning quicker repairs and restoration when it matters most.
We’ve also installed taller, stronger poles and upgraded equipment to support your community as it grows.

Hands-on in the field—these apprentices have completed equipment installation at the White Rock battery storage substation. It’s set to begin operating this summer, supporting the grid with safe, reliable, clean energy during peak demand. ⚡
Trees are a big part of what makes our province feel like home—but they’re also the leading cause of outages. 🌲
That’s why we trim branches and manage vegetation—to help keep trees from coming into contact with power lines during high winds and storms.
With support from residents (thank you 💙), our crews and contractors recently completed proactive work in the Loch Broom Loop neighbourhood.
Upgrades along the Annapolis Basin 🌊
If you’ve been through Karsdale lately, you might’ve spotted our crews at work. We’re rebuilding this section of line with bigger, stronger poles—built to better handle those basin winds.
It’s the kind of upgrade that helps reduce outages and makes maintenance safer, often without turning the power off!
