I never expected to feel so much love walking across that stage. ❤️
To every single person who celebrated with me, cheered for me, and screamed my name as I received my diploma: thank you. Every time I watch this video, I feel that love all over again.
Many years ago, if you had told me that I’d be graduating from Berklee College of Music with a double major in Film Scoring and Game & Interactive Media Scoring, I wouldn’t have believed you.
When I was 20, I didn’t have a single friend who played or studied music. I didn’t even know what a conservatory was. I’ll always be grateful to my first mentors, who saw something in me before I was able to see it myself.
I came to Berklee knowing there would be challenges, but little by little, it became the place where I grew, failed, learned, and started becoming the person I always wanted to be. Berklee gave me knowledge, experience, and opportunities I once thought were completely out of reach. But more than anything, it gave me a family: friends, mentors, professors, and a community that made these past two and a half years the happiest and most transformative years of my life.
Now I’m leaving Berklee for my next adventure in Los Angeles. But unlike when I first arrived in Boston, I’m not starting this new chapter alone. I’m starting it with people I love, memories I’ll carry forever, and a version of myself I never thought I’d get to meet.
To the insecure 20 year old Alan who didn’t know anything about the world and felt completely lost in life:
KEEP GOING. WE’RE GONNA MAKE IT.
I am incredibly honored to have been chosen as the 2024 recipient of Berklee’s BMI Award! 🏆
Thank you @bmi and @berkleescreenscoring for this incredible recognition. This is the result of years of hard work, persistence, and never giving up.
This wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of my dear brother, @urielcatz . I'm blessed to be sharing this life and career with you.
I still can't believe I had the chance to meet @mychaeldanna and Tracy McKnight @calamjane22 !! Spending those hours with both of you was truly a privilege. Our conversations and your advice have left me even more inspired and focused.
Thank you for such an amazing experience. 💙

Wonderful evening at the annual BMI Film, TV & Visual Media Awards, celebrating some of the top composers in the industry. 🎶🎥
A pleasure reconnecting with colleagues from last year, meeting new ones, and celebrating alongside my brother @jack.kenta
Thank you @bmi and @calamjane22 for having me again. Always grateful 💙
I’m still processing the fact that Berklee reached out to feature my story as part of an article on their website. ❤️❤️
It feels incredibly special to be closing my chapter at Berklee this way.
This article is not only about achievements or awards. It’s also about the challenges behind them: starting music later than most people around me, expressing my personality in a second language, and finding my place in a community full of extraordinary musicians.
Most importantly, this article means a lot to me because it reminded me once again that I was right not to give up.
Berklee changed my life, and I’ll always be grateful for everyone who was part of this journey. 💙

GDC was insane!! 🔥😮💨
I made so many new friends and got to meet so many people I admire in person. I can’t thank @gameaudionetworkguild enough for selecting me as one of the five composers/engineers they sponsored.
I left San Francisco even more inspired to keep building a career in this industry I love so much. These are just a few memories from this incredible trip:
1. I got to meet and have a chat with these legends I admire so much!
2. Day 0 - GDC with one of my best friends
3. Handed some of the G.A.N.G trophies to the hosts during the awards!
4. Met and had a blast with the rest of the G.A.N.G Scholars
5. A lot of fun meeting some of these in person and for the first time!
6. Reconnected with friends from Berklee
7. @a.wintory concert playing legendary Doom music from the goat @mick_gordon
So happy to finally share one of my all-time favorite rescores I’ve ever written!
I had the privilege of recording my music with a full orchestra and conducting sessions every week for a whole semester at Berklee. 🎻
I got to do this as one of six selected students, surrounded by unbelievably talented film composers and some of my best friends (slide 2 🫶). I learned a ton from everyone, and it’s easily been one of my biggest highlights at Berklee.
😁 You can't imagine how many times I got hyped with this one, especially in the last part (slide 3)
I also learned so much analyzing the master and original composer of this film @johnj_powell I genuinely can’t wait for what’s next in Los Angeles in a few months!

Weeks ago, I was thrilled to be announced as one of the winners of Berklee’s Ubisoft Challenge 2025, which gave me the chance to present my music to @ubisoft ’s Music Supervisor and Grammy-nominated @simonlandryms 🏆
🎧 We had to create a track (pitch) in the style of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok
90% of this track is mockup, using sample libraries from some of the best companies: @cinesamples@waveletaudio@heavyocity
🎉 Thanks so much to my mentor @nachouy@scoringnacho for putting this together, and to my players and team:
Bouzouki, oud, wind effects: @nathanielharder

🎮✨ The Game Awards 2025 are just around the corner!
This year, together with @urielcatz , we decided to create our own 2025 Game of the Year (GOTY) Orchestral Medley.
We arranged and created an orchestral mock-up of the soundtracks from the 2025 Game of the Year nominees,
presented by @geoffkeighley and giving every player (like "Flute Guy" @pedroeustache ) their moment to shine.
We can’t wait to hear @lornebalfe arrangement this year!

The music we composed for the game Gales of Nayeli is finally out! 🕹️🎮
We had so much fun and worked so hard together in this OST! The score features a lot of non-traditional winds performed by our beloved winds player Greg Orosz ( x: GameroftheWinds), playing instruments like Shinobue and Shakuhachi!
🎶 You can listen to the complete soundtrack on https://linktr.ee/AlurCZ
Thanks to our amazing colleague @juanschmulenson as always and @maxolah@mattmarzolamusic for your support!!
