*** MAY 21st ***
BLACKOUT at Neue Zukunft hosted by Acoustic Neuroma every third Thursday of the month
Doors: 20:00
Shows: 20:30
Damage upon request
As for our May special we have a colorful mix of improvised music and electronics by:
Mazen Kerbaj (trumpet, fx)
Mazen Kerbaj is widely considered as one of the initiators and key players of the Lebanese free improvisation and experimental music scene. As a trumpet player, he pushes the boundaries of the instrument beyond recognition.
Miriam Leo x Berenice Llorens (piano, bass, electronics)
Two active musicians and artists in the field of DIY electronics and improvised music, breaking with their classical musical training to transgress borders and bring fresh energy on stage. Always present and integral to the Latinx diaspora in Berlin, Miriam Leo and Berenice Llorens will enchant the audience with bleeps and blops and a new duo, which might become your new favorite band.
Guido Möbius (accordion, fx)
In his live sets Möbius creates delicate links between experimentation, handmade techno, funk, polyrhythmic patterns, acid, weird noises and gospel music. Methodically prepared passages and improvisation combine into a coherent set, and Möbius deals with the energy on the fly.
The venue is wheelchair accessible. We are staged in the smokers' room in the back of the cinema. Pass the bar, enter through the glass door. If you can't find it, ask the local staff.

Cate Hops
is a Berlin based anthropologist, curator and sound artist. Throughout her artistic practice her ideas reflect space as a social practice. Her performances unfold as electro-acoustic experimental sound pieces and ambient scapes. She works with everyday objects, hacked toys, effected voice, and radios which she loops, layers on top of each other and transforms them into an ephemeral sonic space. She is a co-founder of the Fem*noise network and has collaborated with artists such as JD Zazie, Jena Jang, Leila Mnekbi, Mia Zabelka, Munsha and many others. She presented her work on different stages in Europe and at artist residencies in Austria, Estonia, Germany, Senegal, Taiwan, and Tunisia.

Corazón de Robota [CL] makes retro-technological and techno-manual noise
creations from low-cost low-tech sound artifacts & electronic recycling. Her sound
performance stages synthesizers, sequencers, drum machines, filters and handmade distortions, incorporating error and electronic aberration.
Device arrangement is not fixed. She uses her DIY instruments as non-standard modules that are interconnected by cables. Signals and sound are therefore always unique, a chaotic organization of textures, feedbacks and random patterns that are set up live to explore and experiment with the rhythmic dimensions of noise.
The various sonorities generated go through the spectrum of audible and inaudible frequencies, leading us into a sensory journey of physical perceptions, vibrations, frequencies and demodulation of cosmic
messages.
Corazón de Robota’s DIY devices embody the philosophy of Electronic Anarchy and are all made using open source hardware.
