Happy haunt season, kittens. We’ve been lurking in the shadows, eager to make our chilling return. But, like any good ghost story, the unexpected has a way of creeping up on you. After some eerie twists and turns, we’ve decided to take another year off to rest in peace — for now.
While we won’t be haunting you this season, our collective of creepy creators is itching to bring Dead Centre of Town back in full-scare spectacle. The terrifying truth is, producing large-scale immersive theatre takes GUTS (by guts we mean ample time, space, and resource enough to sustain our collective of professional artists). We don’t quite know how and we don’t quite know when, but we’ll be back when the time is right. Have ideas that’ll help us rise from the grave? Whether it’s a haunted venue, eerie partnership, or wicked opportunity, we’d love to hear from you. Help us summon our next nightmare.
In the meantime, keep your lanterns lit and your spirits high. And be sure to take in all the Dead Centre of Town Collective has to offer as we romp about in other graveyards:
Our Playwright and resident Necromantic Medium is conjuring real ghost stories from Strathcona’s history alongside the quick-witted evil geniuses at
@rapidfiretheatre in the Ha-Ha-Haunting of Old Strathcona.
Our resident Special Effects Sorcerers are working their eerie magic at
@escapecity.ca . The Woodsman is now stalking his prey in Edmonton, Calgary, and Saskatoon!
Our Impossible Machine Wizard has joined shadowy forces with
@fortedmontonpark ’s DARK to create spine-tingling, blood-curdling effects for four wicked experiences that’ll leave you sleeping with one eye open.
Our dear, haunting Alice the Hench and longtime experience collaborator is back in the creative lab developing the next iteration of the award-winning production of The Spinsters with
@smallmattersp .
Thanks for supporting your local weirdos - stay haunted!
