Darlingtonia californica study in gouache for my illustration final!! I was lucky enough to see this species in person a few weeks prior and got to get some really cool reference photos + do some sketches from life 🦾🦾 really magical💚 (but it was sooooo cold) pondering doing prints of this piece 👁️

Nick and I are excited to finally sharing with you the animation we made for the “To Gaza, With Love” global Anijam. Our contribution is short and sweet, but neither of us could’ve created it without the other. Always a joy to work alongside him @knickco1 This jam was hosted by the Animation Community for Palestine (@ac4pal ). We are so grateful to be one of over 300 submissions to be featured here. You can view the other submissions on the interactive map (https://togazawith.love/)—each meaningfully created to show support for the work of ac4pal. Ac4pal was started as a way to highlight the efforts of Haneen Koraz (@animator_haneen ) in her animation workshops for the displaced women and children of Gaza. Along with Shorook Darwish (@shorouqnahed ) and Nour A-Jawad (@nour.abd.jawad ), Haneen has worked with over 1800 people to build community, create art, and establish joy throughout Palestine. As we approach 2 years of ongoing genocide, we want to remind everyone of this simple fact: that hungry babies should be fed ❤️ Inspired by a lovely patch given to me by a random community member at a plaza free-market. Join us at Outer Space Arcata on Sunday, September 14th at 5:30pm for a 30-minute screening of stop-motion animated shorts created by the displaced women and children of Gaza. The production of these flms were guided by local animation instructors, Haneen Koraz, Nour A-Jawad and Shorook Darwish at various refugee camps across the strip. All funds generated as a result of this screening go to supporting these women’s work so that they may continue to lead these workshops. To learn more about the work they’re doing, follow @animator_haneen ,@shorouqnahed , @nour.abd.jawad and the @ac4pal account that serves to unite the animation community at large to raise their voices for Palestine.
