262 Fifth Ave Site Model
For the restoration of this project, we thoroughly cleaned and refinished the model with multiple coats of stain blocker and a fresh coat of paint. Throughout the process, we carefully preserved the original character and building textures as intended, enhancing its overall appearance while maintaining the initial feel.
The model is currently on display at Five Points Development Group's New York office, with overall dimensions of 10'x5'x3'.

262 Fifth Ave Site Model
This project is the restoration of an eight-year-old site model originally built in Russia and transported to New York for display at Five Point Development Group's Manhattan office.
When we received the model, it showed significant wear, including many stains and several broken or missing buildings. We added ten new high-rises to reflect the updated skyline and remade four existing buildings that needed updating.

ArchiTypology - Large Scale Detail Models
This is the final stage of our ArchiTypology project with @ultimaker where we developed select massing models from the earlier stage into large-scale detail models.
All parts of the models are 3D printed in PLA, from the towers and surrounding context to the base, showcasing 3D printing's versatility for both rapid prototyping and high-resolution detail models. See our previous posts for the full process of ArchiTypoplogy.

Jersey City Prop Model
This project is a prop for a TV ad, used in James Solomon's campaign for Jersey City Mayor. The model features three typical Jersey City developer buildings, both designed and fabricated by our team. Two of the buildings have the ability to rotate, making it quick and easy to compose different shots on set.

ArchiTypology - Massing Models
ArchiTypology, created in collaboration with @UltiMaker , uses 3D printing to explore rapid prototyping in architectural design. Every component was 3D printed with PLA filament, including this series of interchangeable towers that plug into a larger site model.
Each design begins as an idea that is translated into 3D model. Some of the concepts are inspired by real buildings or interpretations of built projects, others are entirely original. This project highlights 3D printing’s potential for rapid prototyping of design iterations that can be viewed in context.

3 Hudson Boulevard, FXCollaborative/Boston Properties
3 Hudson Boulevard, designed by FX Collaborative and Boston Properties, is a proposed office tower located in Manhattan's Hudson Yards. We produced ten identical models to be given to the project's investors, small and durable enough to be held and viewed up close.
Following our initial prototype, the model was refined to no longer include the voids between floors. The version shown here is the final prototype that was replicated and given to the client.

This is one of ten identical models made for the investors of 3 Hudson Boulevard, an office tower in Manhattan. Because this set of models is intended to be handled, it presented unique challenges in the fabrication in order to ensure durability. Highly detailed architectural models are not usually meant to be held, rather they are typically fragile and displayed within an acrylic case.
In order to ensure it could be safely handled, we used 1/8" thick acrylic over a 3d printed core, with chamfered corners. A solid acrylic base brings the weight of the model down to the bottom so that it can't tip over easily. These materials allowed for a detailed representation of the tower that was suitable for handling. At a 1:800 scale, the model measures approximately 4.61” x 4.2” x 15.33"

3 Hudson Boulevard, FXCollaborative/Boston Properties
3 Hudson Boulevard is an office tower located in Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side. This is a prototype for the ten identical scale models commissioned as gifts for the project’s investors. Designed to be held and examined up close, the models offer a tactile way of engaging with the tower design.
Since we made a series of identical models, a fabrication method that was efficient and easily repeatable was critical for this project. Each tower has a FDM 3d-printed core with circular locators for the other printed components to precisely snap into place. We used a 0.01” tolerance to ensure a tight, secure fit. The fenestration was laser etched onto 1/8” acrylic sheets, then applied onto the core. For the podium, we used high resolution resin printing, which captured the fine spatial details. This was essential given the small scale of the model.
