As a producer it’s easy to get caught up in endless conversations about preamps, compressors, microphones, plug-ins and presets, but I assure you there is no greater factor in making a great record than the spirit of the artist. Ellie’s spirit is undeniable and she BRINGS IT to every aspect of the process. It makes the job of producing a dream. There is no substitute for her kind of spirit. It bleeds into every aspect of the process. Close to 15 years ago I was recording a song for
@drewholcombmusic and he invited his wife over to sing some bgvs. When I heard her voice I was done for. Producing a record for her has been on my bucket list ever since that day. I’m thrilled the stars finally aligned and we were able to make a record together. Thank you

@hannahnrector for supporting Ellie and lifting her up. I do think it’s possible for the recording process to kill the spirit of an artist. This team did the opposite and amplified Ellie every step of the way. What a light you are to the world Ellie! I endlessly thank you for asking me to steer this ship for you! I think it’ll be an important record for a lot of people for a very long time.
