“Utsukushii” is the title of Christian Askjær’s search for beauty in Japanese culture and the country’s aesthetics. During the exhibition one will travel from day to night and experience 24 works from the ordinary daily life and 24 works from the buzzing night life, where beauty and emotion are rendered through photographic experimentation and a mindful, sustainable approach.
Askjær has a unique sense of colour, light and composition, which often evokes feelings of recognition and connection in the eye of the viewer. Askjær tends to experiment with different photography techniques, which transforms reality into surrealism.
As part of this year’s Copenhagen Photo Festival, we are pleased to highlight the exhibition “Utsukushii” presented by Christian Askjær’s Photo Space.
The exhibition is part of CPF X – our Festival Partner Programme presenting exhibitions and events at partner venues and collaborators throughout Copenhagen.
The exhibition will be on view from 4 April to 4 September at Christian Askjær Gallery, Peter Fabers Gade 1, Copenhagen N 2200.
