Excited to share: Embrace the Elements – A spec commercial for @Jeep@Jeepca .
My team and I filmed this over 5 days across 2 seasons (Fall & Winter) 🍂❄️
How’d I come up with the concept?
I pulled from personal experience. Jeep Wranglers have been a HUGE part of my life growing up.
Back in the day I convinced my dad to get a bright red Wrangler and every chance I got, I’d take it out!
My dad and I took it camping, on road trips, and snowboarding🏂
I did end up totalling it (not my fault btw) - but that’s another story lol.
My dad then got a 2016 bright blue Wrangler (I talked him into that color too!)
So when I set out to create this commercial, I pulled from my own experiences.Â
I wanted to capture the Wrangler’s rugged performance in harsh fall and winter environments, while showing the adventurous lifestyle of a Wrangler owner.
Fun fact: The 2024 Jeep Wrangler Willys featured in this commercial is actually mine. So I also leaned into how I wanted to experience it.
Couldn’t have asked for a better team to embrace the elements with. 🥶💪🎥

Here’s 5 tips on filming industrial content from a Directors POV👇
1. Don’t film tasks - film intention
Anyone can point a camera at someone welding or drilling. The difference is *why* they’re doing it.Direct your subjects. Give them purpose, pace, and repetition. Even in industrial settings, performance matters and it’s quite obvious when someone doesn’t know what they’re doing. Make sure they understand the role enough to live it.
2. Control the chaos, don’t eliminate it
Industrial spaces are messy, loud, unpredictable - that’s the asset.Instead of cleaning it up, shape it and embrace it. Frame sparks, smoke, movement. Let it feel alive, but intentional.
3. Light like it’s a scene, not a site
Overhead fluorescents will kill your footage. As a director, you decide where the eye goes - consult with your DoP to help motivate your lighting to create the depth and mood you’re looking for.
4. Movement should mean something
Every push, pan, or track should be deliberate and reveal something - scale, detail, or intensity. If the camera moves, it needs a reason. In our case - the handheld look is what we wanted to emphasize the grittiness of the shoot.
5. Shoot for the final video, not the moment
You’re not documenting - you’re building a sequence. Think in beats: wide, medium, detail. Capture transitions, textures, reactions. That’s what makes the edit feel cinematic without saying the word.
P.S if you’re ever filming welding always wear proper PPE. Don’t ever look at the sparks directly - only through your camera monitor.

The Light Inside - A Holiday commercial TV spot for Mission Services. (Directors Cut)
This story contrasts warmth and connection with isolation on the streets, revealing how Mission Services brings light, hope, and belonging through a shared meal 🤝
For our Director, @caseyrogan , this project was especially meaningful - having attended McMaster University, he saw firsthand the realities faced by those experiencing homelessness in the Hamilton community.
We’re proud to support such a wonderful organization in their fundraising efforts to help reach more people in need this season!
