We originally thought about using this picture for the Bottom of an Afternoon artwork. It’s an old family pic of my uncle, my mom, and aunt Ellen.
I wrote Bottom of an Afternoon right after my uncle passed. Trying to answer the perennial question of why good people have to die.
I love the look on my mom’s face here. It’s like she’s seeing into the future and my uncle is looking to her for answers.
We were all confused kids once. I often still feel like one and turn to my mom for answers.
